Distribution limitations:
(Put here any preconditions on the distribution. The most
common are geographical limitations, eg. for North America
only, and limitations on redistribution on CD-ROMs. Due to
recent trends, this item must be included!)
While I am at it, I would again like to draw our uploaders'
attention to carefully reading /pc/UPLOAD.INF and /pc/UPTEXT.INF
before uploading to save everyone's time. Your uploads are very
welcome, but the load is currently such, that we cannot cope with
uploads which do not conform. Some highlight for MsDos uploaders:
- Only .zip files are accepted.
- An emailed announcement to pc-up@uwasaX.fi is compulsory!
- It is futile to upload the announcement to /pc/incoming since a
script automatically deletes any non-zip files.
- Your emailed announcement MUST have a subject in the form
gismo10.zip Global Integrated Simulation Model uploaded
- If the subject is missing from the email header, the upload has to
be rejected.
Sorry to have to be this strict, but we no longer have an
alternative.

Sun 5-Sep-93: Would you like to see where the various MsDos FTP
sites are located on the map? I have added a geoftp.dat file into
the updated MsDos FTP site list for that purpose. In order to use it
you need to have /pc/ham/geoclk50.zip "GeoClock; world map with
grayline; EGA, VGA" and you must know how to use it. The updated
list is available as

The distribution of the MsDos FTP sites is rather interesting. In
Europe there is a German / Finnish concentration. There is nothing
in South America nor in Africa. The Southern hemisphere sites are
limited to Australia. But most surprisingly there are no sites from
Canada on the list.
Please let me know if I have misplaced any site providing the
corrected longitude / latitude information. (The jpl and switch
information are the most suspect).

I am announcing this download to Garbo from SIMTEL20 as an
exception, because the program is in one of my own teaching areas of
interest. The nice side is the included 5-minute tutorial. The
downside is the usual in mathematical and statistical packages. The
user interface is not the friendliest possible. Much prepreparation
is required. I would call this the "manual phenomenon". That is
that you'll need the documentation beside you to consult in order to
able to utilize the program.
