ABOUT GOPHERVR
--------------

Gophervr is the first Virtual Reality interface to the Internet.

REQUIREMENTS
------------

Currently we're shipping these binary versions of gophervr:

   SunOS 4.1.3_U1
   Solaris 2.4 (sparc and X86)
   Irix 5.3
   AIX 3.2.5
   Linux

Your system will need to have Xwindows and a color graphic display for
the program to function properly.

Solaris 2.4 requires the Common Desktop libraries to be installed.

Linux users will need to have the old Xt and X11 libraries from
XFree86 installed (this is the default most Slackware releases.)

Binaries for HP/PA will be available soon. A complete source release
will follow shortly thereafter.

The Gopher client built into this release is loosly based on the code
in the Unix terminal gopher client, however it doesn't support all the
features of that client yet. Future releases will.

INSTALLATION
------------

In this directory you'll find the gophervr binary for your Unix
system.

Some systems have static and dynamic versions, if you have an older
version of the Operating system you should consider running the static
version.

Solaris users will need to either:
  Set their LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include /usr/dt/lib .... or ....
Have the system administrator create a symbolic link like this:

     ln -s /usr/dt/lib/libXm.so.4 /usr/lib

You can install the binary anywhere.

The file futura.l needs to go in the current directory or in
the /usr/local/lib/hershey/ directory. Note that this file is byte
order dependent.

BUGS
----

The help file will only work if it's in the current directory for now.
Sorry.

The Sun version hasn't been tested with Openwindows. It's currently
built using the MIT X11R5 release of X.

We haven't tested the audio on Solaris 2.4 - X86...
