Gasgano Setup Information
Gasgano potentially runs on any platform equipped with JDK 1.4.1+.
Its primary target platform is Unix (Linux, HP-UX, and Solaris).
Gasgano does not need any additional file to run, but for it be used effectively, some
configuration files and directories do come into play:
- .gasganorc The file where the preferences are saved. Located in the home
directory of the user. If not existing at initial launch it will be created after the current preferences are accepted
- a classification rules file containing a binary representation of all the rules which will be used to determine how FITS/TFITS files are classified by the application. The exact filename is specified in the preferences.
In a multi-instrument environment, rules for all instruments must be specified in the same file
- keyword list files contain merely a list of keywords to be used either for filtering the header, or for generating reports. The directory where they are searched is specified in the preferences
- script directory This directory, also specified in the preferences, is meant to contain general purpose, instrument-independent scripts. It should also contain subdirectories for instruments specific scripts. These directories have to be named exactly as the instrument for the Script Directory Board to find them.
Example: < gasgano-script-dir >/ISAAC/scripts.
